The Primgraph explores the Scourge of the Skies – Airship Pirates!

The latest issue of the Primgraph - Issue 12: Airship Pirates - Scourge of the Skies is now available!

It seems that our last issue, featuring those dastardly pirates, occasioned much interest among our readers. And, as nothing so delights us as much as pleasing our readers, we decided that we would tackle the subject of airship pirates in this issue!

And a mysterious message that I received one dark and stormy night had nothing to do with this decision—oh, goodness me, no! Although, you can read all about it later in the magazine.

Mr Linus Lacombe set out to investigate the only empire in the Steamlands—Steeltopia.

And he also enjoyed a late night drink and conversation with the Emperor himself—SteelCobra Calamari.

Miss Elegia Underwood visited Armada Breakaway to discover the changes that had occurred since the Great Fire (covered in our issue for October 2009).

Miss CathyWyo1 Haystack interviewed the pirate with a suspicious path that now plays a significant part in running Breakaway's floating city—Mr Remington Thursday.

Frau Annechen Lowey provides us the correct etiquette needed when travelling by airship… and how to avoid a disastrous defenestration from an alarming height.

Miss Ceejay Writer provides invaluable advice on how to join the rascally bands of airship pirates who sail the skies of the Steamlands, while Miss Jedburgh30 Dagger provides an account of how to choose and fly an airship—and how to do battle as well.
Miss Beq Janus has contributed a fascinating article on airship pirates in history and literature. And, in order that you should be properly dressed for such encounters, Her Grace the Duchess of Carntaigh, Gabrielle Riel, provides wise and timely fashion advice.

Further fashion advice is supplied by Miss Naergilien Wunderlich, who provides information on the history of high heels (which we do not recommend you wear while flying with airship pirates).

There is coverage of events within and without our Steamlands this month. Herr Baron KlausWulfenbach Outlander has provided a wonderful description of the Grand Tour of the Steamlands for Relay for Life®, while Miss Ceejay Writer has provided a description of the World Steam Expo in Dearborn, Michigan at which The Primgraph played a small part.

There’s another Lost Chapter for you to enjoy, this time by Miss Eloisa Denimore whose diligent researches have uncovered what was really in the attic of Mr Rochester's Thornfield home. And we hope you will enjoy the gorgeous illustrations by Miss Twisted Lemon.

And in The Quest for the Golden Prim, the Expedition makes landfall in Steelhead—and sets about discovering Mr Carruthers, the man who supplied the mysterious diary to the Librarian. But a terrible shock awaits the academics as they pursue this mystery. And there are shocks too for our reporter Emily Lockhart, still a secret stowaway on the Flying Phoenix, and for our heroine Nan. And what makes Ralph abandon his companions in Steelhead?
We have more of our classic serial, “The Mysteries of London”—as well as news from around the Steamlands and other vintage sims.

So, with no shortage of fascinating articles and beautiful illustrations supplied by our brilliantly talented team of photographers, we welcome you to this twelfth issue of The Primgraph.

How do I get my copy of The Primgraph?
Well, there are various ways to get The Primgraph!

Best of all, you can join our Subscribe-o-Matic group, which will deliver the magazine to you automatically when it is published. The Subscribe-o-Matic kiosks are located in historical and steampunk sims across Second Life (for example, you’ll find ones at all the Caledon infohubs). And if you can’t find one in your favourite sim, why not ask the owner to install one?

You will also find them at the Prim Perfect offices in Oliveto.

It is also available through XStreet (just search on the site for The Primgraph). This will deliver you a copy in the form of a Thinc book that you can rez and read inworld.

But if you prefer to read the magazine online but not inworld, there are choices too. Firstly, there’s the wonderful Calaméo system, which allows you to moves smoothly through the pages, giving you the feeling of reading a real magazine. You’ll find Issue 12 here – and please do leave a comment!

But, if you like to download your magazines to read as you commute to work, or in the bath, or wherever, you can also obtain a standard pdf for downloading and printing.

So, really, you have no excuse for not reading The Primgraph. In fact, why aren’t you reading it now?
